Critical Cooling
When downtime isn’t an option, experience counts
We install, service and maintain critical cooling systems for data centres, server rooms and other temperature-sensitive environments. Our experience covers direct expansion (DX) and chilled-water systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling and liquid cooling infrastructure.
Reliability comes first, but energy use matters too. We look at how the cooling plant, controls and heat rejection work together, then identify practical ways to improve efficiency without compromising resilience. That may include free cooling, EC fan upgrades or, where suitable, technologies such as liquid pressure amplification. The aim is to reduce cooling energy use and support wider PUE and decarbonisation goals.
Support for business-critical cooling
Depending on the site and equipment, we can provide:
- Planned maintenance and condition reporting
- Fault finding and repairs to existing systems
- Support for DX, chilled-water and liquid cooling plant
- Replacement of ageing or inefficient equipment
- Phased upgrades planned around live operations
What happens after a service visit?
You receive a digital report showing the work completed, faults found and any risks to cooling performance. We’ll separate issues needing immediate attention from improvements that can be planned, including opportunities to reduce energy use.
Who we work with
FAQs
Here you can find answer to our most-asked questions
Can you maintain equipment installed by another contractor?
Yes. We can survey the existing system, assess its condition and propose a maintenance plan based on the equipment and your operational requirements.
Can you upgrade cooling while our data centre remains operational?
We assess the existing resilience and plan how cooling will be maintained through each stage. The method depends on the site and may require temporary cooling or a phased changeover.
Do you work with liquid cooling as well as traditional air cooling?
Yes. We can support the cooling infrastructure associated with liquid cooling, alongside DX, chilled-water and air-based systems. The precise scope is agreed following a review of the installation.
Can you help reduce our PUE?
We can review the cooling plant and identify opportunities to reduce its energy consumption. PUE reflects the energy use of the whole data centre, so the overall result also depends on the IT load and other building systems.
